It is a legal requirement for all dogs to have a microchip and for all dogs, cats and ferrets to obtain a Pet Passport. We also recommend microchipping cats (and will usually implant it at the time of neutering). This is implanted with a simple injection under the skin in your pet’s neck and allows us to reunite lost pets and their owners through the microchip database. We use a special pet microchip called Biothermo® which reads your pet’s temperature on our scanners, removing the need for rectal thermometers.
Since 1 April 2016, every dog in England needs to be on the pet microchip registry, so we’d recommend getting your dog microchipped with us soon if you haven’t already.
