Laboratory services for pets in Notting Hill and Barons Court

We have lab facilities at both of our surgeries in central London, containing Vetscan2 biochemistry analysers and a VetLab5 haematology analyser. These allow us to give you results within 10 minutes of taking a blood sample from your pet.

Our services ranges from the simplest pre-anaesthetic scan to comprehensive blood analysis, including full haematology, pancreatic lipases, lungworm, feline immune-deficiency virus and feline leukaemia virus and examine blood smears on our high-powered microscopes. We also check faecal samples for giardia infection, urine samples for routine problems and bladder crystals and hair and skin samples for mites, yeasts and ringworm. All our machines are regularly serviced, and results checked against external lab results for qualitative control.

We also use external laboratories for more complicated tests or where we want to discuss findings with a specialist pathologist: We use:

  • Axiom Veterinary Laboratories in Devon for all our routine blood urine and faeces testing, routine rabies antibody testing for passport work, and also for some of our allergy testing.
  • TDDS for allergy testing, histopathology and cytology.
  • Various specialist labs for more specific tests and the VLA for Export work.

Details are available on request, though we’d always gain your consent before sharing your details with any external laboratory.
