We’re really proud of the veterinary surgeons and veterinary nurses here at our independent Notting Hill & Barons Court Vets in central London. They’re all highly-qualified professionals with life-long interests in dogs, cats, rabbits, and all small animals.

Fully-qualified nursing staff

It’s our policy to only employ qualified registered veterinary nurses. Our registered veterinary nurses (RVN) are regulated by a strict code of conduct and are trained to level 3-diploma or degree standard.

Dr Emma Nicholas MRCVS

Dr Emma Nicholas MRCVS

Head veterinary surgeon

Emma graduated from the University of Cambridge and became a member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1994. She worked as an assistant in several high-profile central London practices and did her fair share of long hours and night call-outs in Surrey, County Durham and Hong Kong. She opened Barons Court Vets in 2002 followed by Notting Hill Vets in 2006, with the aim to provide every patient with high quality yet affordable veterinary medicine and surgery. She particularly loves seeing her elderly patients and creating care plans to improve their quality of life. She lives in Brook Green with her husband, 2 teenage sons, little black cat Gorgon, and enormous Weimaraner puppy, Norman. In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit, travel and art.

Dr Rebecca Spaull MRCVS

Veterinary surgeon

Rebecca joined us in March 2017 after returning from Sydney, where she worked as an emergency and critical vet. Prior to this she was at a veterinary hospital for several years and gained experience in a number of clinics across London. Rebecca has a keen interest in soft tissue surgery and ultrasonography. She particularly enjoys meeting clients and building a relationship with her patients. In her spare time, she loves to travel, ski and practise yoga.

Dr Gregor Shubel BVSc MRCVS

Veterinary surgeon

Gregor qualified at Massey University in New Zealand in 2016. He has been working in the UK for the past year and had recently joined our team. In his spare time he enjoys travelling, training towards his pilot’s licence and getting stuck into a good book.

Dr Emma Styles MRCVS

Acupuncturist, Veterinary surgeon

Emma studied veterinary medicine in Australia and worked with large and small animals, including the occasional wallaby, before starting her veterinary acupuncture training. She has been practicing acupuncture for twenty years and is certified with the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society and the Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists. Emma loves to support older dogs and cats with chronic pain and mobility problems as well as improve general wellbeing and health. She has studied traditional Chinese herbal medicine and food therapy with the Chi Institute, and is developing an interest in rehabilitation and physical therapies. Emma is available for acupuncture at both the Notting Hill and Barons Court surgeries.

Veterinary nurse

Georgie joined us a student in 2015 from Wales where she had worked in a busy mixed practice for several years. She passed all her exams first time last year and is now looking to further her qualifications. In her spare time, she enjoys acting, dancing and singing.

Noelle East RVN

Veterinary nurse

Noelle is originally from Ireland but moved to London in August 2016 to pursue her nursing career before joining our team in January 2018. A graduate of Letterkenny Institute of Technology after completing a Bachelor of Science in Veterinary Nursing in 2015 followed by a BSc (Hons) in Animal Behaviour and Welfare in 2016. Noelle is an avid animal lover and is keen to build on her her existing nursing skills and knowledge and has a special interest in clinical coaching.

Tara Corbett RVN

Veterinary nurse

Tara joined us in April 2018. She graduated from University College Dublin in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in veterinary nursing. Following this she worked as a Veterinary Nurse in UCD Veterinary Hospital until she moved to London in February 2018. Her interests include anaesthesia and surgical nursing. In her free time, she enjoys exploring her new surroundings.

Receptionist

Wanda started working in veterinary practice in 1974 and has seen many changes over the years. In her spare time, she enjoys visiting microbreweries in the UK and beyond.
