Radiography

Radiography (X-Rays) is used to diagnose a whole range of ailments that might affect your pet. From traumatic injuries (broken bones and ruptured diaphragms) to medical conditions (heart failure and bladder stones) we are able to radiograph your pet on the premises and discuss the results with you the same day.

Most animals will require sedation or anaesthesia for this procedure because it is very important to have your pet in the right position. Sedation also reduces any pain that might be apparent, particularly if your pet has experienced trauma. In extreme circumstances where sedation would be life-threatening, then we can of course take an x-ray on a conscious animal.

The minimum cost of radiographing your pet is £100 plus the sedation or anaesthetic fee. This includes two x-rays and interpretation by the vet. In some cases we will need to take more than two views or do a series of x-rays over the course of the day. If your pet needs this done we will be more than happy to give you an estimate of the cost once your pet has been examined.
