Because he’s worth it…

An article in The Times today (16th December 2008) put the average lifetime cost of owning a dog in this country at £13,000 which is a 24% increase since 2000. As this figure is an average over all areas and breeds the cost of keeping a pedigree dog in London is likely to be significantly higher.

It also suggests that more people are abandoning their dogs in the run-up to Christmas as the credit crunch bites, in fact Battersea Dogs Home is reaching capacity.

This is a an apposite time to remind pet owners of the benefits of pet insurance which can avoid the shock of a big bill just when times are tight.

If you would like any advice on this or any other aspect of pet care why not give one of our friendly, experienced nurses a call?
