Featured Case

CatChronic Renal Insufficiency (CRI) is one of the most common diseases seen in cats. It relates to the function of the kidneys which are responsible for filtering out waste products in the blood system and discharging them in the urine.

When kidney function starts to deteriorate (this is only evident once over 65% of functional kidney mass has been lost), these waste products are not filtered out as efficiently and begin to build up in the blood stream. (more…)

Recent News

A recent study by the University of Edinburgh (reported in the Evening Standard 7th Aug 2007) has shown that the incidence of feline diabetes is increasing. One in 230 pet cats in the UK has the disease. Neutered male cats that live indoors and Burmese cats are over-represented while being overweight increases the risk by a factor of three. (more…)
